An exceptionally rare and highly decorative example of early Coalport (Coalbrookdale) porcelain, created during the manufactory’s period of artistic excellence. This impressive covered vase, of monumental proportions, represents the finest tradition of early 19th-century English decorative porcelain.

The elaborate form, with paired handles, a richly modelled base in the late Baroque style and Rococo influences, is enhanced with extensive hand-painted decoration. Each side features a different landscape or floral composition, finely executed in layered brushwork with depth, perspective and delicate transitions of colour.

The exceptional value of the piece lies in its intricate hand-modelled decoration: the flowers, buds and foliage are individually sculpted, while the branch-form handles further emphasise the sculptural quality of the design. The cover and base are enriched with elegant Rococo details and gilded accents.

A rare collector’s piece of early Coalport, created as a grand decorative object for a prestigious interior and demonstrating the remarkable skill of English porcelain craftsmen of the period.

Condition: good antique condition, without restoration. The piece has two firing cracks originating from the manufacturing process: one to the collar near the cover and another to the lower rear area near the mark. They do not affect the structural integrity of the vase.

Original markings present: underglaze cobalt decoration to the base and an additional mark beneath the cover.
