COALPORT — RARE GREEN “BATWING” COMPLETE TEA SERVICE
£795.00
England — c. 1900–1910
An exceptional antique Coalport “Batwing” tea service for six, presented in the highly desirable and rarely seen apple-green colourway.
Crafted in fine bone china, the service is richly decorated with vivid green Batwing panels, delicate floral cartouches and elaborate gilded ornamentation. The combination of brilliant white, fresh green and generous gold creates the distinctive jewel-like appearance for which Coalport’s celebrated Batwing pattern is so admired.
A wonderfully comprehensive service comprising six tea trios, accompanied by a large square cake plate, milk jug and open sugar bowl.
Condition: Remarkably well preserved, with no chips or cracks and virtually no significant age-related wear. Fine glaze crazing is present on three cups, the milk jug and partially on the open bowl. The decoration and gilding remain beautifully vibrant.
A rare and highly collectable example of early 20th-century English Coalport.
