An elegant wash set produced by one of Staffordshire’s workshops in the finest tradition of English decorative ceramics. The refined blush ivory finish, expressive Rococo relief, hand-painted decoration, delicate floral transfers and rich gilding create an exceptionally elegant appearance.
The set comprises:
• large ewer, 28 cm (11 in) high;
• oval wash bowl, 39 × 32 cm (15.4 × 12.6 in), 12 cm (4.7 in) deep.
Presented in immaculate collector’s condition, with no chips, cracks, restoration, crazing or loss to the gilding. An exceptional state of preservation for pieces of this period.
A striking decorative set, ideal for a traditional interior, bathroom, bedroom or dressing room, and a fine addition to a collection of English decorative ceramics.
