TURN WIEN — ANTIQUE COBALT & GILT CABINET VASE
£175.00
Vienna, Austria — c. 1890–1910
An elegant antique decorative cabinet vase by Turn Wien, dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century. Its refined silhouette and graceful proportions reflect the stylistic transition from late Historicism towards the emerging Art Nouveau aesthetic.
The vase is richly decorated in deep, hand-painted cobalt-blue tones, softly graduating into the ivory ground. The decoration is further enhanced with elaborate raised gilding and finely applied dry-brush gilt detailing, creating subtle texture, depth and richness across the surface. Delicate enamel accents add further definition to the ornamental and floral decoration.
The twin-handled, lidded form gives the vase an elegant and distinguished presence, making it particularly well suited as a cabinet piece or statement interior object. It is a beautiful example of Viennese decorative ceramics from the turn of the 20th century.
Condition: Very good antique condition for its age, with no chips or significant age-related wear. There is one small crack, which does not significantly detract from the overall appearance of the piece.
Height: approx. 30 cm
