ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SUGAR CASTER
£200.00
Birmingham, England | 20th Century
Crafted in sterling silver (925), this elegant English sugar caster is a fine example of traditional table silver from Birmingham, one of Britain's most celebrated centres of silversmithing. The classic baluster-shaped body is complemented by a finely pierced domed cover with a geometric diamond pattern, topped by an elegant finial that completes the refined silhouette.
Originally intended for serving icing sugar, cinnamon or other finely ground spices at the table, pieces of this quality are now appreciated both for their craftsmanship and as collectible examples of twentieth-century English silver.
Presented in excellent condition, free from damage or restoration, with crisp, clearly legible hallmarks confirming the silver standard and place of manufacture.
Material: Sterling silver (925)
Height: approximately 17.5 cm (6.9 inches)
