A rare antique biscuit dish, exceptional in both design and craftsmanship, made from dense, high-quality crystal adorned with very fine and uniform hand-cut facets.
The crystal body is set in an elegant silver-plated frame of English manufacture with large sculpted handles. The frame’s design reflects the transition from late Victorian aesthetics to early Art Nouveau, emphasising the rare and expressive character of the piece.
The lid is adorned with a sculpted finial in the shape of a pine cone — a traditional symbol of prosperity, comfort and hospitality in late 19th-century English tableware culture.
Condition:
excellent, with no restoration or damage, and only minimal signs of age.Fully complete, a rare example in such good condition.
