ANTIQUE GRAPE SCISSORS
£0.00
England, Birmingham • sterling silver • late 19th century
A rare Victorian pair of sterling silver grape shears, crafted in Birmingham at the end of the 19th century.
The handles are richly modelled in the form of intertwined grapevines with finely detailed leaves and grape clusters — a beautifully symbolic design characteristic of high Victorian silver intended for refined fruit service.
Originally created for aristocratic dining tables and fruit service, pieces of this quality and preservation are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Fully functional and preserved in excellent antique condition with clear silver hallmarks throughout.
