Produced in a strictly limited edition of just 500 pieces, this rare Wedgwood pastille burner is crafted in the manufactory's celebrated Queen's Ware, a material that has remained one of Wedgwood's defining achievements since the eighteenth century. Originally designed for burning fragrant pastilles, it is now regarded as a highly desirable collector's piece among enthusiasts of Wedgwood and English decorative ceramics.
Unlike Wedgwood's tableware, decorative limited-edition pieces of this kind were produced in comparatively small numbers and rarely appear on the secondary market, making them especially desirable to collectors.
The elegant urn-shaped body is supported by a pedestal with three finely modelled dolphins, an eye-catching decorative feature that gives the piece its distinctive sculptural form.
